Dear Parents,

We will have our last session of extended Saturday School for 6^th to 8^th graders is this Saturday from 7:30AM to 9:00AM. ISAT testing begins on March 4^th.

On February 25th, Thorp will be hosting a “Be the Match” Bone Marrow Drive – in honor of Thorp Graduate Emma Gomez.  All adults, ages 18-44 are encouraged to be part of the drive. Please let your family members know – Emma is in need of a very rare type of bone marrow. Thorp will be hosting the drive from 2:00PM to 6:00PM

On Wednesday, February 27^th students will have a half-day. Dismissal will occur at 11;15AM. Cold –cut sandwiches will be served for lunch, so you may want to make your own arrangements.

At 6:00 PM on the 27^th we will have an informational meeting about the changes to ISAT as well as a discussion on MAP testing. This meeting will be a general overview about the purposes of each test. We will also have our Thorp Smiling Strings Musicians give us a small introductory concert from 5:45PM until the beginning of the meeting. Please come out and support our aspiring virtuosos.

Taste of Thorp is this Friday March 1^st, from 7 -10pm at Biagio’s.  If you have not done so, please purchase your tickets by visiting the Friends of Thorp website: http://www.friendsofthorp.org/storage/InviteForm.pdf .  The class with the most tickets sold will receive a Pizza Party from Friends of Thorp.  Also, please visit the Friends of Thorp Facebook page for more information about the auction – there are some truly valuable and unique items donated from members and friends of the Thorp community.

Parents please make sure to visit the E-Book section of our site (under Students). We are trying to have all of our textbooks available on-line. Currently we have our Science series available, but Mrs. Montemayor is continuing to add more subjects.
